Q2. Establish standards for tagging of cloud resources

Tagging enables association of individual infrastructure assets with the services they support, which subsequently allows for association of cloud computing costs with such services, providing a transparent view into the total cost of running them. While this document does not prescribe a uniform tagging standard, it is possible that such a standard will emerge.

In the interim, individual service owners are encouraged to follow these guidelines:

• VT Devcom recommends a set of tags for Terraform modules
• DLT specifies a set of supported tags for cost allocation
• AWS describes some best practices for tagging
